Common Radio Direction error

(i) Environmental error

In the radio direction, the system receives the radio signal radiated by the signal source, however, due to environmental factors, for example, surrounding the existence of high-rise buildings, forests, towers, high-voltage wires, metal structures, etc., will interfere with the transmission direction of the radio, so that it deviates from the transmission path, the accuracy of the measurement, resulting in deviations.

(ii) Systematic error

The errors caused by the direction finding environment, the direction-finding equipment and the direction-finding antenna are systematic errors.

If the measuring device is not accurate, the result of the direction finding is not reliable. Therefore, in order to reasonably select the direction of equipment and fully understand the working principle of equipment, as far as possible to reduce the error caused by equipment.

Antenna radius is one of the most important systematic errors. The error caused by the antenna radius is influenced by many factors, such as the direction of the wave.

(iii) Polarization error

A direction finder for the detection of radio waves with arbitrary polarization angles and wavefront inclination at the same time, the vertical polarization wave and the horizontal polarization wave will be received, because the antenna body used in the vertical component and the horizontal component to receive directional characteristics of the map is not the same, so the synthetic directional characteristics of the map will be distorted, resulting in a direction error, This error is called planning error. Ionospheric parameters vary over time, so the polarization error is also changed over time.
